driving tips

okay, I am definitely not saying I am a great driver or anything close. But here are my suggestions for good driving tips/etiquette/courtesies etc. These are things I practice myself and believe they are appreciated by other drivers:

  • please shoulder check before you change lanes
  • please give a little wave of thanks (or something!) when another driver gives you space so that you can merge in/change into the lane
  • if you are driving below the posted speed limit, please move to the "slow" lane
  • if you are on your cellphone, you should definitely not be in the fast lane, and you probably should not even be driving. Pull over and stop when and where it's safe to do so.
  • please be aware of what is happening around you on the road as you are driving. Your vehicle is NOT a little vacuum or bubble or own little world.

There. I have vented. Now feeling better.
